Following this breathtaking spectacle, the journey continues with a thrilling drive across the sprawling, mystical “Sea of Sand” (Laut Pasir), a vast, lunar-like volcanic desert. You will then approach the base of the active volcano, where you can take an optional pony ride or walk to the Bromo Crater. Conquering the 250 steps to the rim rewards you with an up-close, raw view into the steaming, sulphurous caldera.

Your adventure begins in the early hours of the morning. You will be picked up from your hotel or accommodation in the Malang, Batu, or Surabaya area, signaling the start of your journey to Mount Bromo
Travel by car or bus towards the Mount Bromo area before switching to a 4x4 Jeep. The Jeep is required to navigate the challenging terrain. Your destination is a sunrise viewpoint, with popular options including Penanjakan 1, King Kong Hill, or Love Hill.
Reach the sunrise viewpoint and prepare for the spectacle. You can warm up with a hot cup of coffee or tea from local vendors while waiting for the sun to rise
Experience the iconic golden sunrise over the Tengger caldera. From the viewpoint, you will see a breathtaking panorama of the vast sand sea, the dormant Mount Batok, and the towering, active Mount Semeru
After enjoying the sunrise, your Jeep will take you across the Sea of Sand towards the base of Mount Bromo's crater
Arrive at the Sea of Sand and begin the trek. You can walk or hire a horse to reach the base of the crater steps. Climb the 250 steps to the crater rim to see the active volcano up close. During your walk, you will also pass by Pura Luhur Poten, a Hindu temple sacred to the Tengger people.
Hop back in your Jeep to explore other famous spots around the caldera. You'll have the chance to take photos at the scenic Teletubbies Hill and the unique Whispering Sands.
After your adventure, the Jeep will drive you back to the transit area, where you will switch to your original vehicle for the return journey to your hotel or another destination.
