Itinerary

The journey starts at 07:00 AM sharp. Enjoy a scenic 4.5-hour road trip from Labuan Bajo via an air-conditioned vehicle. This crucial transfer offers stunning views of the Manggarai hills and terraced fields, serving as preparation for your trek. The drive concludes around 11:30 AM upon arrival at Dintor/Denge Village, the base camp where you will have lunch.

Upon arrival at the base camp in Dintor/Denge around 11:30 AM, you will immediately take a much-needed one-hour break for lunch. Use this time to recharge your energy and hydrate before beginning the demanding trek to Waerebo. The break concludes at 12:30 PM.

The core adventure begins at 12:30 PM. This challenging 2.5 to 3-hour trek requires good stamina as you hike uphill through the dense tropical rainforest. You will pass through three designated rest posts (Pos 1 to Pos 3) as you navigate the winding mountain trails. This immersive journey offers spectacular natural scenery and fresh air, directly leading you to the hidden traditional settlement of Waerebo Village around 3:00 PM.

Around 3:00 PM, your challenging trek concludes as you emerge to the breathtaking sight of Waerebo Village. Take a moment to absorb the unique panorama of the seven cone-shaped Mbaru Niang traditional houses nestled in the valley. The first hour (until 4:00 PM) is dedicated to the essential formalities, including the traditional welcoming ceremony (Wae Lu'u) led by the village elders, granting permission and a blessing for your stay.

From 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, enjoy a warm communal dinner prepared by the villagers. Following dinner, the unique experience of spending the night begins: you will sleep communally inside the Mbaru Niang, the traditional Waerebo cone-shaped house, admiring its very unique and distinct architecture while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere before resting for the night.

From 7:00 PM until midnight (00:00), the evening is dedicated to Free Time and rest. After an early communal dinner and the day's challenging trek, this is your opportunity to fully unwind. Settle into the unique surroundings of the Mbaru Niang, mingle quietly with fellow travelers, prepare your gear for the early morning, or simply enjoy the profound silence and clear starry sky of Waerebo before getting essential sleep for the next day.

From 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM, you will enjoy a comforting breakfast alongside the local community. This is a quiet, authentic morning moment to recharge your energy before the descent. Take this time to observe the peaceful morning life in Waerebo and share a final, simple meal prepared by the villagers, truly embedding yourself in the local rhythm.

From 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, take advantage of this final hour for a calm morning exploration of Waerebo. This is your chance to wander peacefully through the village grounds, interact briefly with the residents, capture close-up photos of the Mbaru Niang architecture, and perhaps purchase some authentic Manggarai coffee directly from the locals. Savor the crisp mountain air and the unique atmosphere before preparing for the descent.

Upon completing the descent trek and arriving back at the base camp (Dintor/Denge) around 11:30 AM, you will have one hour for a well-deserved lunch break (until 12:30 PM). This is a crucial time to recharge and rehydrate after the challenging trek down the mountain before continuing the journey back to Labuan Bajo.

From 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, take a refreshing pause at Repi Beach, a picturesque stop on the journey back. After the intense mountain trek, this tranquil coastal interlude offers a moment to unwind by the sea. Enjoy the ocean breeze and the beautiful white sand, offering a perfect contrast to the lush highlands of Waerebo.

From 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM, we make a brief but essential stop at the famous Lembor Rice Fields. Here, you will witness the unique Lodok (Spider Web) rice field arrangement—a traditional Manggarai land division system that creates a mesmerizing, intricate pattern when viewed from above. This quick stop offers a stunning photographic opportunity and a glimpse into the fascinating local agricultural culture before concluding the journey back to Labuan Bajo.

Following the final segment of the road trip, the journey concludes around 7:00 PM (19:00). You will arrive back in Labuan Bajo and be transferred directly to your hotel or designated drop-off point, marking the completion of your memorable 2D1N Waerebo Adventure tour.
